Stacy at the front desk made my Christmas morning. She greeted me with such warmth and cheer that I was smiling for the rest of the day. The hotel itself is a great place to stay in Ogallala, with a fresh, modern lobby and rooms, a new bathroom, and a very comfortable king bed. The room lighting felt a little stark and minimalist, though. Warmer light would make it more inviting. Thanks, Stacy, you’re the best!

I was passing through Ogallala in October 2025 and would happily stay at this Best Western again. The breakfast was hot, fresh, and offered a good range of choices. My room was nice, with a comfortable bed and chair, plus a big TV that was great for watching football.

I’ve stayed at quite a few Best Westerns, and this was a first for me: a handmade tip jar right on the kitchen counter where breakfast was served, placed in front of the napkins so you couldn’t miss it. I’m still giving the place five stars.

The breakfast area was kept clean, and the staff serving it were very nice. There was a proper hot meal, including bacon, eggs, biscuits, and gravy. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a king bed; the bathroom was clean too, and I never spotted a bug. Even with the major highway nearby, we felt safe. We’d stay again without hesitation.

I paid almost $300 for a private room for the weekend, but while my husband and I were out celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, someone from housekeeping went into it. I had medication out, along with other personal things couples might have for an occasion like that. Coming back to find the room had been gone through felt like a complete invasion of our privacy. The manager said that because we hadn’t put the door placard out, staff could enter, and if I didn’t want those items seen I should have put them away or left them in the car. That response was unbelievable. If staff are allowed into a room when guests are away, the hotel should ask whether they want that first. We got $50 back for the “inconvenience,” but I’m asking for a full refund. I travel all over, from Texas to South Dakota, and I’ve never had to hang a do not disturb sign just to keep someone from seeing my “Toys” on the bedside table. I won’t stay at another Best Western Hotels & Resorts. I’d sooner sleep in a Walmart parking lot under a tarp than risk this happening again. I wonder how many other guests this has happened to, and how many accepted the $50 instead of making a fuss. The hotel is Best Western plus Ogallala Inn, 110 Pony Express Ln, Ogallala, NE 69153.
