There was a great fragrance throughout the hotel, including in the rooms, not just the lobby. I forgot to ask what it was. The hotel and guest rooms were very clean, as were the public restrooms. I liked the lobby dining and entertainment area, with its private booths and TVs. There are several dining options and convenience stores nearby. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We were traveling for business with family when a snowstorm made the weather bad. Once we reached East Lansing, we chose this hotel because it was the biggest of the many in the area. The gentleman at reception was super friendly and respectful. I never felt like he was pushing us to stay longer. We had an awesome time here. I recommend stopping in and staying safe.

I had a confirmed reservation at Courtyard by Marriott East Lansing Okemos for February 9-23, 2026, and presented valid ID that was approved at check-in. But on February 22, the day before checkout, I was removed from the property despite having an active, paid reservation. No written notice or relocation was offered. Police were called, and my belongings were left inside the room. I’m currently dealing with refund disputes. It was a disappointing and unprofessional experience.

All three front desk staff members I interacted with were extremely kind and pleasant. It makes such a difference to deal with helpful, friendly people. Cypress seemed to smile because she wanted to make me smile, and Sarah was incredibly helpful when I’d made a booking problem through my own carelessness. She didn’t make me feel like it was a problem at all. That kind of service brings people back!

We’re longtime Hilton Reward members, but we don’t stay at their properties anymore. This was our first visit to a Marriott, and we were nervous. Hanna and Caleb at the front desk made us feel so welcome, and housekeeping did a great job. Our room was absolutely perfect. We’ll stay here again when we travel back to MI. Standing ovation!
