Candlewood Suites Olathe by IHG

My husband was tired after driving 8 hours, but Kerry spoke to him in a very condescending way when he checked in on 12/31/25. His company books his stays as he moves military families from state to state, and he brings a credit card authorization form each time he stays with IHG. She said his reservation wasn’t paid, even though it was, and never tried to look for the form. As a diamond member, he shouldn’t have had to deal with that kind of incompetence. He felt profiled. Please retrain your staff. The treatment was absolutely ridiculous.

I spent $45 on meat after the manager told me the outdoor grills were working. Then I found out there were no grilling utensils, and when I tried to cook, every propane tank was empty. They said they could get more in an hour, which would have been 9 pm. They were fine leaving me with an “I’m sorry.” Don’t count on them. I can choose where I stay through my company, and next time I’ll ask for another hotel.

We had to repair our house after somebody drove a car into it, so my wife and I stayed here from early March to early July. The place was clean and friendly, and the people were great to be around. They remembered your name, and whenever we needed anything, someone was right there. Scott the manager, Carmen the daytime receptionist, who always had a big smile, and Carrie the evening lady who checked people in all took an interest in us. Carrie knew our names and wanted to hear about our lives. The cleaning crew always did a great job too, and I’m sorry if I missed anyone. I know lots of construction people stay here, but families do too. The whole staff was great, and I’d highly recommend this place.

There’s laundry onsite, which made my extended stay easier, and shops are close by. The highway is nearby but far enough away that there’s no traffic or noise. My room was roomy, with furniture in good shape. It was clean, and the kitchen had enough supplies. There are extra items you can borrow if you need them.
