Eastwind Oliverea Valley

The views and atmosphere were amazing, and the manager was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I had a good stay at this beautiful property, though a few details caught me by surprise. We stayed in a triangular cabin, and at 5'10" I found it a bit tight and uncomfortable. I'd suggest a larger cabin or the hotel on the property. They provide a luggage cart, but no one helps load or carry your bags, and some cabins involve stairs. There's a daily pet fee if you bring a dog, plus a daily resort fee that I only learned about at checkout. Parking is free and self-service, with no valet. The on-site restaurant was good, but the menu is limited. Other restaurants are about 15-20 minutes away by car. Depending on the season, mosquitoes can be numerous, so bring repellent. Despite those caveats, it's a beautiful and memorable place, especially for anyone who enjoys nature.

We spent a long winter weekend at the Eastwind Oliverea property, and it made a lovely getaway. The Lushna Suite was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up, with a heated bathroom, stair cubbies for storage, a kettle, and a fridge. We really appreciated having an en-suite bathroom in the cold weather. The bed was very comfortable, though getting to it means climbing somewhat steep stairs. There's a handrail, and it wasn't a problem for us, but it's something to consider if mobility is difficult.

We've stayed at Eastwind several times as a family of five, visiting all three New York locations: Windham, Oliverea Valley, and Lake Placid. We love each one. The service is impeccable, and every place feels warm and welcoming while still distinct and thoughtfully put together. The design, collected interiors, comfort, and peaceful, breathtaking natural settings all make Eastwind feel like home, only more beautiful. We've gone for skiing, hiking, lake swimming, walks in the forests, and scenic views, and sometimes just to slow down and reconnect with nature. There's no better place for us. If we could give it 10 stars, we would.

We were invited to Eastwind Hotel yesterday by the owner, Bjorn Boyer. The saunas were spotless and well maintained, and finding a hot pool in New York's Catskill Mountains feels like a real luxury. The food and exotic cocktails were delicious, too. From the moment you arrive, the place feels like a fairytale, with a magical atmosphere and high-quality service. Congratulations to Bjorn and his team for their vision and hospitality. ✨
