DoubleTree by Hilton Olympia Downtown Capitol District

For my niece’s 8th birthday just before Xmas 2025, we stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in the Capitol District, downtown Olympia. The indoor pool was the girls’ favorite part. I’d called ahead to sort out the arrangements, and the front desk agent kindly put us away from other guests near the renovation area, so the girls could scream and dance without bothering anyone. They also managed to give us a later checkout after we begged, letting the girls swim a little longer. I’m grateful for everyone’s help making this an amazing Winter Break kickoff party for eight little girls from a very rural area. They’ll remember it for the rest of their lives.

We stopped for one night on the way between Ranier and Vancouver Island, and the pool was a real treat, especially since it opened so early. The front desk staff were super friendly and gave us helpful bar and restaurant recommendations. Our room was clean, with a very comfy bed. We also enjoyed downtown and hope to come back.

The breakfast buffet had a nice range of fresh and prepared foods, and the service was top notch. The front desk associates were friendly too. I walked over from the apartment for breakfast and will be back!

Getting around downtown Olympia on foot was easy, and the staff were friendly. But room 340, up in the top corner, had an odd setup: the shower and toilet were apart from the mirror and sink, which were in the room itself. The carpets seemed old, though the room was clean enough. Remodeling was underway, and every morning at 8am workmen started right outside our window, with the boom lift beeping. Breakfast was $9.95 per head, which I’d expected to be included, but there are plenty of other options nearby. For a similar price, the Holiday Inn in Chehalis where I stayed a few weeks ago was far better.
