The daily Food & Beverage credit was the most frustrating part of my stay. The menu gives the impression that guests can pick from several cooked-to-order breakfasts, but the fine print and tiny symbol show that only a few items qualify. Almost nothing on the breakfast menu shown here is actually covered, even though it’s the only morning dining option. Omelets, pancakes, waffles, French toast, and the yogurt bowl don’t count, despite being basic hotel breakfast choices. No one on staff explained the restrictions upfront. I only learned about them after trying to order and being told my choices “don’t count.” It felt intentionally misleading. Guests shouldn’t have to search for symbols or decode vague footnotes to figure out whether breakfast qualifies. If the credit is restricted this much, the limits should be clearly explained at check-in and shown plainly on the menu. I left feeling frustrated rather than appreciated. If you’re booking because you expect the daily food and beverage credit to make your stay more comfortable, be ready for confusion, restrictions, and disappointment. The hassle wasn’t worth it.
Miranda, a housekeeper, heard me mention that I didn’t have preemie clothes for my baby. After going to her second job that evening, she bought some and brought them to my room. It was an incredibly emotional time, and that small kindness meant so much. I’d traveled to Olympia to adopt my infant son, who was born early and spent time in the NICU, and I had to live in a hotel while the legal process was completed. I was missing many of the things I needed. The staff were always there to help with doors, coffee, luggage, and making sure my baby and I had what we needed in the room. The hotel itself was nice, clean, full of amenities, and well located, but the staff’s top-notch service is what made me write this review.
At checkout on Sept 24, on the 5th floor, a short lady with a bun and glasses was slamming things from room to room on either side of us starting at 10, seemingly to make us leave. She needs to be fired. It’s ridiculous and really annoying, and now all my coworkers know where not to stay when they have to stop in Olympia. We were working while traveling and needed our room until almost noon, since we had meetings through midday before gathering our things and heading elsewhere for the afternoon workday. Hotels are often chosen based on checkout time for exactly that reason. Should checkout hours be changed to suit housekeeping? Is this management’s direction, or do the cleaning staff think the job is about their timing and the customer can go to heII? The traffic noise wasn’t an issue, even though the hotel is basically on the freeway. The somewhat shabby finishes make things look dirty as they break down, even when they aren’t, and parking wasn’t great either. But the cleaning staff behavior was the real problem.
John at the front desk was awesome and so helpful, and the rest of the staff were lovely too. We had a great stay and will be back!
My kids and I played chicken in the pool, and they got two massive nerf blasters as Christmas gifts. The vibe was chill. Get in the pool, you’ll enjoy it more than you think. The entry hallway had a nice ambient feel too.
