Baymont By Wyndham La Crosse/Onalaska

The room looked recently updated and was very clean. Breakfast was nice, and there's a pool too. Whenever I called the front desk for something, they were great. I'll definitely stay here again.

The first time I stayed here, it was the cleanest, friendliest hotel I'd been to in years. Everything went smoothly, so a month later I booked again for 3-4 nights and prepaid through VIO.com. After hours on the road, I arrived to check in at 3am, only to be told they weren't allowed to let me stay. They asked me a bunch of questions, and I was confused because there had been no issue on my last visit. I got my deposit back then, and nothing negative had happened. The desk worker said I could maybe stay that night, but would have to check in again and ask the manager if I could stay the remaining nights I'd already paid for. In the end, I had to leave, and nobody could give me a reason. Now I'm out the money for the next 3 days and may have to wait a month to get a refund. I feel like they took $300 from me and screwed me over for no reason. Zero stars for both of them.

The price was $645 for two nights in a two queen bed room, including taxes and service fees. For that much, I wouldn't stay again. The walls are so thin that we heard every step from the people above us on the second floor. The room felt bare, with peeling paint and discolored carpet. Breakfast was gross. The eggs were definitely powdered and really watery, and the biscuits and gravy were 🤢. There wasn't hot water for oatmeal. The coffee was decent and the juice was good. At $80 a night, I could understand it, but not for what we paid.

We stayed two nights and had a wonderful time. The suite was spacious, with a double vanity sink. I also enjoyed the garden out back, along with the pool and hot tub. There was a grill and string lights over the patio out front.
