The room was okay for sleeping, and the beds seemed clean, though we were exhausted and I didn’t inspect them closely. We were there for one night on a quick college trip, arriving around 11 pm and leaving early. The low price makes sense now: the place smelled, looked dirty, and the staff seemed unfriendly. There was no soap or shampoo, and the front desk person seemed bored or tired both at check-in and when I mentioned the missing toiletries. My kid found a random pudding box on the floor, and there were lots of stained surfaces in the bathroom that needed a deep clean. Parking was hard too, since large trucks filled the lot and took up more than one space. We have status and often stay at other Wyndham hotels, so I expected better.

We didn’t stay. After checking in and seeing the room, we went back to the desk five minutes later to check out and ask for a refund. It was filthy, with black mold on the ceiling and a bathroom that was about as disgusting as I’ve ever seen. The gambling machines in the lobby probably should have been a warning. This was $170 a night in Lacrosse, which is unbelievable. Worst hotel room we’ve ever seen, ever. Check the photos.

The whole place smelled bad, and the stairwells looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. We paid almost $250 for one night, which made the experience even more frustrating. Our first room had an AC that didn’t work, and the vending machines were empty. Breakfast was just fruit and muffins, and I don’t know how that counts as breakfast. They advertise truck parking, but it was only a small spot in the driveway. This was the worst hotel.

The room was impressively clean, and the people at the front desk were so friendly. We stayed one night and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was good too, especially the French toast. Thanks, we’ll stay here again!

The young man at the front desk was really friendly, and I liked the hotel, its location, and the service. I’ve tried several places in the area, and this has been my favorite so far. I’ll come back for another stay.
