Comfort Inn Opelika - Auburn

The room was disgusting, and I’d recommend staying somewhere else. We were in town for a soccer tournament because other hotels were booked. There were big black stains on the carpet, it hadn’t been vacuumed properly, and the beds were missing pillows. In the bathroom, we found mold, a dirty shower curtain, stains, pubic hair and long red hair on the shower wall. I have black hair. There was barely any water pressure, and the water was lukewarm. There was blood on the side of the bed, only three towels for our family of four, and one towel was so worn you could see through it. When we asked the front desk for more towels, they said they were out and it wasn’t laundry day. The ice bucket tray had hair on it and razor cuts that looked like they’d been used for a wild night of partying, if you know what I mean. The pool had run out of towels too. We asked at the desk, were told more would be out in a minute, but none came. When we came back from the pool, Kelli was sitting at the desk on her cell phone. The staff were absolutely lazy. Bring your own towels, shampoo and conditioner, and soap. Better yet, don’t stay here.

When I walked in, I said it looked like a 3 star hotel. The lobby and rooms had upscale, comfortable colors and decor, and felt clean and inviting.

This is always my go-to for business trips. The rooms are great, with comfy beds, cold AC, hot showers with good pressure, clean linens, and a big TV with good channels. The Wi-Fi is strong, and the front desk staff are friendly.

I stayed last night, and the room was awful. The bleach smell hit me as soon as I walked in and was almost enough to make me sick. Farther inside, there was also a horrible wet dog smell, which I guess came from the carpet.
