Our grandson got to see the beach for the first time at age three, and this place couldn’t have worked out better. Even our son-in-law, who isn’t a beach person, is already talking about coming back. He said it was the best vacation he’s ever had, and we all had the best week as a little family. The water near the jetty was clear and calm, full of sea life. We saw fish, stingrays, sand dollars, and dolphins swimming close by every day as they chased fish. It felt like being in an aquarium, and the scenery was as pretty as the Caribbean we’ve visited. We also had spectacular views and an amazing sunrise, with ospreys flying close enough to feel like you could reach out to them. Unit 502 was immaculate and beautifully furnished, from the living room and kitchen to the jetted tub in the his-and-hers bathroom. It was an amazing condo.

The indoor pool was warm even though it was 34 degrees outside when we arrived. The building was well maintained, and the elevators were some of the best I’ve used. That matters to me after once getting stuck on the 12th floor of a high-rise and having to take the stairs. I’d pick an ocean-facing unit next time. We were there in January and got no sun after noon. That might be a plus in midsummer, but it wasn’t what I wanted this time.

We’ve been renting condo 603 for years and still love it. There’s plenty of space, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it’s exceptionally clean. The paint is tasteful, the leather living room furniture is comfortable, and the beds are comfortable too. The best part is the view of the blue Gulf water from the master bedroom, living room, or the lovely patio deck. I’d highly recommend condo 603 to anyone wanting a nice place on the Gulf. The location and beachfront view are beautiful, but the amenities were poorly maintained. Sugar Sands Realty was never available when we needed help. The outdoor pool was cloudy, full of debris, and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years. One day there was vomit in it, and nobody was available to remove it or sanitize the pool. I never saw anyone clean it, and I’m not even sure it gets chlorine regularly. The indoor pool’s filtration fan was painfully loud throughout the building and badly needs replacing. The pump room and HVAC areas by that pool also had no doors. Elevators broke down every day, with nobody available when that happened. We have a child with a disability, and the building is definitely not ADA accessible. The whole place is very dated and needs updating.

The balcony was my favorite part of Unit 211, with a great beach view and two lounge chairs that were perfect for hanging out. It was easy to get to the boardwalk and beach. The room was spacious and very clean, and felt worth the price. We were there for three nights. There was construction during our stay, but the owner let us know in advance, was very communicative, and it wasn’t too bad. Great place for a vacation in Orange Beach.
