Grande Caribbean

The view is great, and the beach is an easy walk across the road. We’re also within walking distance of several shops and restaurants, and the local people have been really nice and welcoming. There’s a pool and an outdoor area with three barbeque grills and seating. Some traffic noise comes through, but it hasn’t bothered us. Great place to stay.

Condo 115 was clean, nicely decorated, and stocked with kitchen supplies, towels, and bedding. We used its updated kitchen and appliances quite a bit, along with the washer and dryer. It had a nice view of both the bay and beach, pleasant patio furniture, and two bedrooms with bathrooms. The main drawbacks inside were the very dirty shower curtain liners, noisy bunks that need tightening or replacing, a worn-out couch, and bad cable TV. As for the complex, the pool, pool area, and veranda were clean and well kept, with plenty of chairs and space. There’s a bay behind the property, beach across the street, outdoor rinse showers, a nice grill area, and picnic tables. Getting to and from the beach wasn’t too bad, though we had to find the crosswalk. We found the safest route was around the back by the bay. Parking, parking passes, and security gave us no trouble. We only saw building security once during the stay, apparently taking a break and watching TV in the veranda area. The pool had awful traffic noise, and they could use a few more beach umbrellas there. I’d read reviews mentioning parking and the street crossing, so I was a little hesitant, but those weren’t much of an issue for us. Overall, a nice stay, and we’d come back.

Room 104 works for a very short stay, but I wouldn’t book it again. The patio view was nice, and the beach access is right across the way, with shops and restaurants only minutes away. Parking was decent, though uncovered unless you live there. There’s also a small pool, an outdoor grilling area, and a washer and dryer in the unit. Inside, the space felt tiny for six people. There’s really just one bedroom with a door, and we had to move the bed before it would close. The bunk beds might suit two adults and two little kids better, but sharing one small bathroom between six wasn’t ideal. The AC struggled, especially in that bedroom, and there are no ceiling fans, just one box fan. The pullout couch had no sheets. There weren’t enough hooks or trash bags, either. Paint was peeling, a kitchen cabinet door was bare and didn’t match the others, the toilet paper holder was broken, and the bathroom fan was hanging on by a piece of duct tape. One or two nights might be okay. Beyond that, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The room was very clean, and I loved the decorations. The accommodations were great overall, and I’d recommend staying here. Customer service was just okay, though. We had an issue with the air conditioning, and I couldn’t get anyone on the phone to help.
