Perdido Dunes

The condo wasn't as listed. There was no beach access or pool, and there was mold in the bathroom. A roach crawled across my son's bed. We checked out early, and no one had told me we needed a parking pass. As we were leaving, they put a warning on my car saying it would be booted if I didn't get one. I'll never stay here again.

The location worked well for us, right on the beach and close to the shopping, restaurants, and attractions we wanted to visit in Orange Beach. We loved the wide balcony and its beautiful Gulf views. Inside, the condo was spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated, with comfortable living space, well-equipped kitchen, and beds that made for a good night's sleep. It was quiet too. We enjoyed local seafood when we ate out, and it was easy to cook in the condo when we wanted to stay in. The owners and management communicated clearly and responded when we needed help, so booking and staying there went smoothly. We can't wait to return to Perdido Dunes.

Perdido dunes unit 21, not the tower. I couldn't find reviews online, so I hope this helps. The good stuff first: sheets and towels were clean, and there were lots of blankets and pillows. The kitchen had what we needed to cook, there were no bugs, and the cute decor and artwork gave it some character. Unit 21 is closer to the beach than most, with the boardwalk visible as soon as you peek outside. The parking spot right there made getting to the car easy. We booked directly with the property manager, and communication was spot on. The ground-floor unit has very low ceilings, which felt claustrophobic and made the upstairs noise even more noticeable. I could hear a faucet, a kitchen chair moving, even a dresser drawer opening. Having someone above us made the stay really uncomfortable, enough that I might have left early. The living room couch was stained and smelly, and it could use a leather replacement. The linoleum and vinyl floors were in poor shape. The plastic sinks and tub and popcorn ceilings need updating too. The pool sits beside a parking lot with cars coming and going, so it wasn't relaxing. Trees or foliage would help with privacy and noise. Given the age of the place, the cleaning crew seemed to have done their best with what they had. It was okay as a budget-friendly place near the beach, but the unit needs some updates and could be noisy.

Unit #27 was awful. This two-bedroom, two-bath place had only one working TV, with none in the master and the guest-room TV not working. Whoever owns it should be ashamed to take people's money.
