The construction made this a horrible stay. We weren't told on the website that work was going on, and the balcony was unusable because of scaffolding. Walking beneath it on the way into the east tower didn't feel safe. The elevator noise came down the hall like a freight train, and people going in and out late at night kept waking guests. I tried to record the elevator sound. The unit itself was nice, but the upstairs spare bedroom bathroom door locked my friend inside. We had to take it off its hinges to get him out. That's completely unacceptable. The owners association should hear how customers feel, and people need to be told about the construction.
We never got the check-in code ahead of time and stood outside for over an hour, calling again and again before we could get in. The condo was unclean, construction was happening inside the building, and the balcony was completely blocked off. We knew the pool would be under construction, but nobody said the condo itself would be affected. Calling this beachfront or ocean view doesn't make sense when you can't see the water or use the balcony. The instructions left out important details and felt misleading. This ruined what we expected from our vacation. I wouldn't recommend it.
The floor-to-ceiling windows give a great view of the beach. Getting off the elevator feels odd, though, with two doors on every floor, and the balconies are tiny. In unit 506, every fire alarm was beeping, so we took them down and removed the batteries. The beds were hard as rocks and left us both sore. Maybe other units are better, but we won't risk finding out next time we're at The Key.
We're back from our second annual family vacation and already plan to book Unit 1001 at Perdido Towers for the same time next year. The area, beach, location, beds, and the people renting it are all things we love. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thanks! Julie in Kansas City, MO
I had a bad experience working for David Feldman, who owns condos here. He took months to pay us, and I was relieved to get even a quarter of the fee. He didn't honor our contract. I couldn't afford to fight him in court, and I figured it could take five years to win.
