The construction was the worst part. Workers were hanging from lines just outside the balcony, while constant jackhammering and cutting noise went on. Half the balcony view was blocked. Unit 909 felt like a $1600.00 disaster, and I would've rated it even lower if I could. It needs paint badly, and looked nasty. There were no bath sink towel holders, coffee filters, or soap, and the second toilet seemed ready to fall apart. It felt like a rerun of the show “summer rental “

The beach here is really nice, and our stay at Phoenix East has been great. Our unit and the building are clean and easy to get around. The elevators were running well, with no crowds or long waits. We’re planning to return.

Condo 610 had lovely decor and terrific views, and the staff were friendly. They also have carts to help get your things from the car to the unit. It’s an older complex, and the indoor pool was closed, though we could use the one next door. Parking costs extra. There was construction at the neighboring complex, so it got a bit noisy, but that wasn’t Phoenix East’s fault.

We had a good time despite the unit, but we paid for luxury and this wasn't it. The staff were super friendly, and the condo was clean, yet I told the front desk the photos didn’t show what the place really looked like. Had they been accurate, we would've rented somewhere else. They refunded a little over $500, but that felt low since I wouldn't have paid anything to stay there and would have booked another place. Don’t stay in unit 901 at Phoenix East in Orange Beach!!! The washer screamed throughout the cycle, and the dryer needed at least three runs to get clothes somewhat dry. The freezer ice maker made only one batch a day, so we bought ice all week. I was told the owner wouldn't fix it as long as it was still dropping ice. In the kitchen, appliances were outdated, banged up, and rusting. The cabinets were crammed with every kind of dish, leaving us little counter space for our unrefrigerated food. The bathrooms looked like small motel bathrooms, and the condo was dated all over and poorly maintained. One end of the couch was literally falling off. The recliner on the other end wouldn't open while I was sitting, so I had to stand up to release it, then sit back down. The walls were dirty, banged up, and cracked. The master bedroom faced the parking lot, which was odd, though it didn't really bother me. The balcony doors had one curtain on the side doors but none across the front, so it didn't block the sun. I'd have put curtains on all of it or left them all off. I wanted to post a video of the washer screaming, but the site only allowed photos.

The owners clearly take pride in unit #305. Its location and tasteful decor were both lovely, and the whole place was stunning. If we return, we'd 1000% choose #305 again. Highly recommend!
