Our two units at sugar beach, 116 and 104, were so dirty that my wife and mother-in-law had to clean them. My wife scrubbed dirt and mold off the furniture and toothpaste that wasn't ours off the mirrors and sink. There was mold on the TV stand, too. Manager Bobby said he'd come remove it, but never did. He also said he'd bring another TV for 116 because ours kept shutting off while we watched. They dropped off a boxed TV and expected us to install it ourselves, which isn't our job. The pillows in the photos were the ones they expected us to sleep on. My father-in-law has a lung condition, and the mold in their room has left him sick. We couldn't get our money back, and paying cash was stupid on our part. If we'd used credit cards, we'd have gotten every cent back and left. We've stayed at Fish camps cleaner than this place. You should be ashamed for not fixing the problems after we reported them. Do not book.

Parking passes at Romar Place 905 cost an extra $36 per vehicle and weren't included in the rental. The unit was barely cleaned. There was mold in the commode and soap scum in the tub, so I bought supplies and cleaned the bathroom before using it. The floors and rugs were so grimy we couldn't walk barefoot. With a 40 or 50 gallon hot water heater, more than three people in this three-bedroom, two-bath condo means someone gets a cold shower. The master bed was awful, propped up on bricks, with a lumpy, uneven mattress that left me with back pain every morning. It needs to go in the dumpster. My family rents from Sugar Sands almost every year, but the quality has gone downhill, so I'll look elsewhere for a condo next time.

The place was disgusting. Dust had built up in the door jambs and on the cabinets and doors, there were splatters on the walls, and the AC filter and its cover were filthy. We were told it was a popular rental and they hadn't had time to clean, but offered to come do it while we were there. I said no and cleaned before the rest of my family arrived so they wouldn't have to see it. We shouldn't have had to do that. The house wasn't clean when we got there, and I'm not happy at all.

The master bathroom was missing its toilet paper holder, which had been ripped off the wall, and it was never replaced. The master bedroom also had sand all over it, as did one of the patio chairs, despite being warned several times about the sand policy at a beachfront rental. They said someone would come clean, but nobody showed up. After asking me to leave an Airbnb review, they stopped responding when I emailed to follow up. The communication just ended. This could have been a much better stay.

For more than a month and a half after the trip, I waited patiently for a response to two emails about the credit I was owed for being moved to a cheaper rental. When I finally called, they were dismissive and rude, and said they'd look into the missing replies and call the next day. Instead, the desk supervisor sent me a long, ugly email describing an account of my stay that wasn't true. I asked to talk with her about what actually happened and asked her to forward my email to the owner of Sugar Sands so he could see my concerns. I never heard back, and still haven't received the right credit. We had been moved from a three bedroom, three bathroom single family home with a private pool into a tiny one bedroom condo. They chose to move us because of bad conditions, not because we asked. Before agreeing, I took a screenshot of the total price for the nights we stayed in the new unit, including taxes, cleaning, insurance, and parking, and the agent agreed to credit us the difference. I shared the screenshot later. They offered a full refund too, but we appreciated the agent's effort and chose to keep working with them. I doubt I would have gotten the full refund anyway. After the stay, I thanked them for moving us and said I knew the poor condition of both rentals wasn't in their control. I also listed things to fix before the next guests. But they should have told us about the huge condo being built next door, along with a row of smaller condos. The banging started at 8 a.m. every day. I checked, and they still don't disclose the construction. The whole experience with them was horrible. They were unprofessional and rude.
