We chose the ORH for my 50th birthday because I wanted a comfortable, relaxing place, and it was just right. It’s a hidden gem right on the beach. Lilia is such a caring innkeeper, making sure you have what you need and treating guests like family. Her daily breakfasts are delicious, lovingly made, and filling enough to last all day. This isn’t a boujee, high end place. If cozy comfort, warmth, and personality are what you’re after, it’s hard to do better. The deck’s rocking chairs, honor bar, cushy pool loungers, and happy hour wine and charcuterie with the other guests all add to the charm. I love that there are no TVs in the rooms. It’s easy to slow down and relax here. We’ll keep coming back. Thank you, Lilia, for making my birthday special.

It’s peaceful and relaxing at the Original Romar House, and we only left for dinner. The place brings back what Orange Beach was like before Hurricane Frederick in 1979, before the high rises, when there were wood stilt beach homes and just a couple of small hotels. Some restaurants even had their own fishing piers. The good old days. Lilia is a wonderful host and cook. Thanks for making our anniversary special. We’ll be back! Cecil & Cynthia Bolton

For a quiet break from the busy, crowded hotels, the Original Romar House B & B is a great choice. Bring your significant other for a peaceful getaway, or come on your own if you need some quiet. The host is friendly and an amazing cook. We’ll definitely be back.

The atmosphere has such a relaxed feel, and the other guests can be a lot of fun. Breakfast was the best.

From arrival on, Lilia made everything easy and welcoming. Check-in and checkout were a breeze, and she handled every detail with care. She’s also a fantastic cook: the French toast casserole, apple crisp, and biscuits with gravy were out of this world. Our room was cozy and beautifully appointed, parking was convenient, and the historic Romar House is just steps from the beach. We also enjoyed the complimentary wine and delicious snacks at 4 PM. We’re already planning to return. If you want a peaceful stay with thoughtful extras and a gracious, accommodating hostess, this place is for you.
