We were in town for a basketball game at the nearby high school, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops around. The room was fabulous, and the staff were friendly. I haven’t stayed in a motel with such fantastic pillows, and so many of them, in the last seven years. The breakfast buffet was fantastic too. I’d stay here again if I return to Fleming Island.

We’ve stayed here three times now, even though it’s a little farther from the place we’re visiting. We chose it again because we already knew what to expect. The rooms are clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I hope Holiday Inn pays attention, because this is what customers want.

Walmart and other stores are within walking distance, which was handy. The room was clean and had no odors, and the breakfast bar was delicious. Everyone working there was so nice. When I dropped a ring down the bathroom sink, the maintenance man came right up and retrieved it.

The shower was unusable because of severe, widespread mold and mildew. The bathroom smelled strongly of dampness and mold as soon as I entered. The shower grout was brown, the corner silicone seals had broken caulking and greenish-black mold, and thick black mold covered the shower ledge. I felt disgusted and anxious just standing near it, and the shower made it impossible to get clean. This was a serious health hazard, not ordinary maintenance neglect. I asked for a different room during my six-night stay, but Desiree and the hotel manager, Kyri, refused, even though another room was available. I received only 10,000 points, worth about half a night's stay, for this appalling, discriminating event. The way management handled my serious health concerns showed a top-down management failure. My extensive conversations with Wesley Ludloff, Corporate Director of Operations from AON, Inc., were just as disappointing. My requests for professionalism and a real solution went unaddressed, and the management company seems to be hiding behind substandard hotel leadership. There are significant operational issues and no real care for the guest experience. I strongly urge management to take this room out of service until a professional mold remediation team has thoroughly cleaned and sanitized the area. Future guests should inspect the bathroom immediately. This level of uncleanliness is unacceptable and appalling. Stay somewhere else for a safer, cleaner, more service-oriented stay.
