Courtyard by Marriott New Haven Orange-Milford

The room was clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere felt relaxing. My mom and I had a great stay at the Courtyard Marriott. From the moment we arrived, everyone was friendly, professional, and helpful. They made us feel welcome and looked after, and you can tell they care about their guests. Thanks to the team at this Courtyard Marriott!

It was stressful and humiliating to arrive late in the evening and find that we didn’t have the accessible room we had been promised. A member of our party had been in an accident and needed wheelchair access. I’d called the hotel directly to change the reservation, spoke with a woman who identified that specific location, and was assured several times that the booking had been changed and that the room had a wheelchair-accessible shower. I made clear that this person couldn’t bathe without one. The desk clerk said we had no accessible room, shrugged that something had been lost in translation, and said there was nothing he could do. Someone brought a shower bench, but that didn’t help because the person still had to get in and out of the tub. The heavy doors into the room and around the shower and toilet were awkward, too, and getting around the toilet area was extremely difficult and painful. If they’d told us earlier that no accessible room was available, we could easily have made other arrangements. By the time we arrived, we were too exhausted to look elsewhere. I’m disgusted by the agent’s dishonesty and shocked by Marriott’s cavalier treatment of people with disabilities.

Ethan at the front desk was a big help throughout my stay. He was respectful and eager to assist whenever I asked, and went above and beyond. The rooms were clean, though I noticed a few scratches on the headboard. We also had a power outage for about three hours in the middle of the night, and on some days the shower water barely got hot. The stay was just okay. I’d recommend asking for Ethan.

The front desk staff were awesome and accommodating when I got stranded here during the blizzard. Thanks especially to the on-site restaurant staff, Trudy, Yadira, and Isabel.
