Orland Inn

The people were very nice, and the room was decent, but we found a large bug in room 102 that I’d never heard of before, a kissing bug. The woman from the office came and removed it. The next morning, there were lots of tiny ones running around, and they bite. I showed the office photos and told them to make sure the room was thoroughly cleaned before renting it again. I hope they listened. I tried to be nice about it, but it was pretty gross having to put on shoes just to get dressed.

I stop here when breakdowns, weather, or something else keeps me from making it back to the yard. The rooms are clean, it’s easy to get in and out, and some rooms have blackout curtains. The big advantage for me is the semi truck parking. The Thai restaurant next door is extremely good. There are no coffee makers in the rooms, so I get coffee at the gas station and put it in the fridge to microwave in the morning.

I found a BED BUG on my pillow right next to my head, and they kicked me out even though I’m 7 months pregnant. I’m homeless and had nowhere to go but the creek. Please don’t get a room there. They want at least $200 for a night, and they do have BED BUGS.

We stayed here again on our way back to WA because it was so nice the first time. We were traveling from WA State toward the Bay Area, and this vintage motel was very clean, with an updated, comfortable mattress. Amy in the office said the same family has owned it for 31 years. It’s dog friendly, has a big clean pool, and there’s a casino close by for entertainment. Too bad it was winter and we couldn’t use the pool.
