Aloft Orlando Lake Nona

The staff were great and very accommodating, and they handled our dance competition well. The entry looked like other Aloft hotels, but stepping off the elevator onto our floor was a different story. It felt like an 80s hotel, with dark hallways, slightly dingy-looking but clean walls, and that same old hotel smell. Our room was clean, but small, with a choppy layout. It looked renovated, though the pillows were bad.

The hotel is kind of on its own, so getting around Orlando takes driving and tolls. There was a golf driving place within walking distance, but they said they were closing that weekend, the weekend of 28 March 2026. If you just need somewhere to sleep before a morning flight, it’s not a bad option. For enjoying Orlando, the location isn’t great unless you’re willing to drive. The lounge had a nice vibe, with live music Friday and Saturday night while we were there, and the pool area had plenty of seating and corn hole tables. The hotel itself has modern decor, plus snacks and drinks by check-in and free water. Staff service was very good. I had trouble with one room’s TV and they moved me promptly, but in the replacement room the bathroom door came off its track and the AC didn’t work. The restaurant’s plant based sandwich was really good. I think you have to ask the front desk for it since it isn’t on the menu.

We stayed again over Vday weekend and really liked the ambiance. As a gold star member, I appreciated the room upgrade and late checkout. This time we tried the restaurant and liked the salmon. Boxi Park is about a 15-minute walk, so we headed there for brunch at Chroma the next morning. We hadn’t realized the pet policy, so the barking in the morning caught us off guard. Otherwise, it’s a quiet hotel. The weekend saxophonist was great too.

Tempo+Grace is better than most restaurants around, and I could enjoy dinner there while watching the Artemis launch through the windows. The room was clean, and the hotel was better than the current 4 stars I’m staying in. I was there for work and my card got charged for the whole stay when I handed it in for incidentals, instead of the company card. The manager sorted it out on the spot. The staff were excellent.
