Orlando's Sunshine Resort

We were in a 2/2, and the bed was very comfortable. The amenities were good, and there are lots of clearance outlet stores about three blocks away for athletic gear. I gave the room three stars because it smelled stale as soon as I walked in. I should've trusted my first thought and asked for another room. Maintenance sprayed twice during our three-day stay, but the smell was clearly in the carpet, which needs replacing.

The staff are friendly, and the resort is well cared for. I have my coffee on the balcony in the morning while the employees are already bustling around at 0700. You can see they take pride in their work. The little things matter, and I really commend them for their dedication. Great resort.

This warning is about Bluegreen Vacations in general, even though I'm posting it on Orlando’s Sunshine resort page. One of our contracts is for this property, which belongs to Bluegreen. My husband and I feel we've been misled by their high-pressure sales practices and false promises. We were told an upgrade would stabilize our payments and bundle maintenance fees. That wasn't true, and now we have financial obligations we can't manage, along with 23,750 unused points that are so difficult to use. Timeshare ownership has become a severe, unsustainable burden for our family of nine, including two toddlers we've taken in to raise. We've had major trouble booking, and the properties we did use had problems: broken amenities, game machines taking card amounts, elevators that didn't work, roaches, AC malfunctions, and drainage issues. At one property we even had to pay to use amenities. After spending so much on the purchase and upgrade, that was hard to accept. We brought our complaints to Bluegreen, but they didn't respond to the detailed concerns about the sales pitch that led us to upgrade. That makes us feel either this is common practice or they don't care that their representatives deceive people. It also left us feeling they don't care about their customers and just want to pocket the money. We're trying to get out of the contract now. We were lied to and tricked, and strongly advise people to stay away from Bluegreen Vacations. Save yourself the regret and trouble we've experienced so far.

This was wonderfully peaceful compared with other bluegreen resorts we've stayed at. The rooms are large and well appointed, and there's a roomy balcony where a nice breeze usually comes through. There are several outdoor games too.
