DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport

The rooms were spacious and I was satisfied with mine, though the property feels a bit older. There’s a Smart TV, which made the kids happy. Staff were courteous and stored our luggage before check-in without any hassle. The location is excellent, right by the airport, and the free shuttle runs every 15 minutes around the clock. I had an early flight and didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t comment on it.

We stayed three nights at the end of Feb 2026. The rooms felt a little dated, but they were clean and had no odd smells. The pool and cabanas were nice, and my husband said the gym was well maintained. The airport is very close, with free transportation about every 15 minutes. Everyone was very nice. Breakfast isn’t included, it’s a buffet for about $25. There’s no free lobby coffee, though there is a Starbucks, a cafe, and a grab-and-go market. We liked Rock and Brews across the street, and plenty of other restaurants are within walking distance.

The shuttle made it easy to get to the airport and places within a two-mile radius, including nearby shops and restaurants. The area felt safe, and there are lots of places to eat and shop nearby. Staff were welcoming and took great care of me throughout my stay. The hotel is older, but clean and well kept. My suggestions: brighten the rooms, which felt a little dark, and add an on-site laundry room. I couldn’t get everything done that I’d hoped to without one. I’d recommend the hotel, especially for the service and convenient location.

I hope management looks into both the guest safety issues and the front desk conduct here. I arrived around 3:04 AM for a short overnight work trip and finished checking in a few minutes later. I was assigned Room 609, and when I reached it at about 3:15, the door was ajar. I immediately went back and asked for another room. As I explained why, the front desk agent, who was short, fair-skinned, possibly Latina, and heavy, repeated my room number aloud and called it over the radio to security in the lobby area. I said I wasn’t comfortable going back, especially after the open door and hearing my room number announced publicly. She insisted nothing else was available and that security could just check the room. When I said again I didn’t feel safe, she rolled her eyes, muttered “Jesus,” and then replied “okay maam” after I said “excuse me?” It felt dismissive when I was raising a real safety concern. I contacted my company at 3:20 AM because nothing was being resolved. Shortly after I began that call, the agent suddenly found another room, despite just saying there were none. I was heading there by 3:25, losing some of an already short rest window. Then around 6:45 AM, someone tried to open my door. It opened as if they were trying to enter, and right afterward I heard a nearby door open and close quickly, possibly the stairwell next to the room. Luckily, I had the privacy latch engaged. The open first room, my room number being announced, the agent’s response, and the attempted entry all left me seriously concerned. I’m addressing it with my company and hope the hotel provides more training on safety and professionalism.
