Holiday Inn Orlando International Airport by IHG

The breakfast buffet in the lobby costs $17.99 per person and had plenty of options, from eggs, burritos, waffles or French toast to bacon, sausage, fruit, cereal, and pastries. It was reasonably priced and the food was good. The shuttle to and from the hotel worked smoothly, and the staff were kind and courteous. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with a bathroom in excellent condition and beds that let us rest well. We heard no airplane noise despite being near the airport. The one small issue was the coffee maker. There were four adults who all like coffee, but its water filter compartment was very dirty, and we couldn’t clean it properly because it’s built into the machine. Housekeeping should make sure these are thoroughly cleaned, or the hotel could use machines guests can clean themselves. Aside from that, we had no problems and would definitely return.

We stayed one night before a cruise and used the free airport shuttle. It arrived on time and was handled well. The room was clean and the bed was nice. There’s a restaurant in the hotel and a small convenience area with snacks and drinks, with plenty of other restaurants nearby too. My wife liked the little smoking area set apart with an umbrella and chairs. Pretty nice Holiday Inn.

The elevators were the big problem. We were on the seventh floor and waited for 20 minutes at 9:15 a.m. It might matter less on floors 2-4. Otherwise, the room was clean, quiet, and had one of the most comfortable beds, a nice shower, and good amenities like Dove soap and shampoo. Service was great, dinner in the hotel restaurant was good, and my wife loved the shrimp tacos. It was cold and windy, so we ate there instead of crossing to TGI Fridays or going next door to Hooters. The price was reasonable, and pickup from the airport was quick.

The hotel is conveniently about five minutes from the airport, and the Go Port shuttle can take you from the property to the cruise port. We got a room quickly after arriving at the airport, and the representative was pleasant and professional from the phone call through our arrival. But the first room was visibly dirty and had roaches, so we reported it immediately and were moved upstairs. We didn’t see roaches in the second room, which was slightly better, but the whole property felt extremely outdated, the oldest Holiday Inn I’ve seen. Staff said the infestation in the first room was because it was pet friendly, though I hadn’t requested that kind of room. That explanation was concerning and didn’t excuse its condition. The stay was very disappointing.
