Holiday Inn & Suites Orlando I-Drive Theme Parks by IHG

On this Orlando visit, we stayed at the Holiday Inn near Vineland Outlet. We could walk to restaurants and shops, so we didn’t need a car. The area was quiet, tourist friendly, and very convenient. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety, and everything was clean and fresh, unlike at some similar hotels. The servers took excellent care of us, and I want to highlight the Breakfast Area. The hotel’s location is good, and it has a restaurant and a nice snack area. Our room looked great at first, though it had a remodeled look. In the middle of the night, we found a bed bug, so we checked out immediately and went to another hotel. At check-in the service was great, but when I showed the bug to the night-shift receptionist in a cup, they only apologized and offered another room. They gave no guidance on cleaning or avoiding bringing bugs with us, and seemed to have little concern about the hotel’s condition. Later, when our booking site called management to request approval for a refund, they said they needed to “investigate.” I’d literally handed over the bug as proof, so I sincerely doubt an investigation was needed. We were very displeased, and I can’t recommend this hotel.

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. Everything was dirty: hair in the shower and all over the back of the bathroom door, thick dust everywhere, filthy carpets, and bedding that looked slept in and was covered in hair. The towels were hairy too. I think the housekeeper caused that. There was no room safe or water cooler in the hotel, and the coffee milk sachets were expired. I complained about cleanliness to three different people before anyone listened. They then offered a room on a higher floor. It was almost as dirty, but at least had hot water, unlike the first room. The reception supervisor was the least friendly person, usually in casual clothes and looking like she’d just woken up, wearing a bonnet most days. The maintenance guy was the only friendly one, always saying good morning. At 8 a.m. the fire alarm went off, but there was no evacuation sign or phone call. Eventually it stopped. The free shuttle bus to the parks looked 50 years old and unfit for purpose. There were no seat belts, the roof looked like it had been in a fire, and the chairs were literally falling apart. Andrew at the front desk and the bar and restaurant team were top notch. The service was amazing, and even during our three-night stay the room was cleaned every day. There’s a shopping center and lots of restaurants nearby. Thanks for a great experience.
