Homestead Studio Suites Orlando - John Young Parkway

We were pleasantly surprised by how good this place was, after reading reviews that said it was lackluster. My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend to see Orlando's sights. The hotel was neat, clean, simple, and seemed recently redone. It's in a safe area between two busy major roads. There can be sit-still traffic at certain times, and there was some construction, so allow a little extra time. We never had a traffic problem, though, and the road to major attractions is only about 45 seconds away. It felt tucked away and quiet, except for the brief morning rush of families and excited kids heading to the parks. The staff at the desk were friendly and informative. We needed to print tickets, and when we called about a business center, the man on duty gave us his email so we could send them to him. He printed them at the front desk for free, which was really convenient and much appreciated. The room was great: clean, with a newer TV than we expected from the pictures, lots of closet space, a big dresser, and a little table for meals. We brought cooking supplies, but the drawers and cabinets already had dishes and everything needed to cook. The stovetop, fridge, microwave, and sink all worked perfectly. The shower had great hot water for a long time, the bed was comfy, the air worked well, and there were plenty of fluffy pillows. There were lots of local TV channels to watch after a long day out. There's a little pool that looked clean, though it was empty. They have grab-and-go breakfast with the usual snacks, plus laundry facilities and a gym that they take good care of. Parking wasn't exceptional, but it was hardly a nuisance. A shopping complex is directly across the street, with Logan's, Denny's, McDonald's, Five Guys, Dunkin Donuts, and a big Wal-Mart. It's handy for souvenirs and theme park essentials at a much better price. The room is equipped well enough to save money by making meals there. Great price, upgraded rooms, and I highly recommend it!

I've stayed here twice and it's a great place. It doesn't smell at all, and the TV is upgraded. I'd tell my friends to stay here.
