Hotel Monreale Express International Drive Orlando

After a long day walking in the sun, the heated pool being open late was a great way to recover. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the temperature controls worked well. Breakfast was convenient and good value. The location and morning shuttle to Universal parks were handy. The evening return shuttle left before closing, so we didn't use it. There are good Mexican and Halal restaurants nearby, plus a Walgreens. We also walked a short way up the road to Waffle House and Subway.

Our first one-night visit, two weeks earlier, had gone well, and we came back because the hotel was convenient and centrally located for the price. This stay was a different story. At check-in we were given a room apparently assigned to someone else. Before we entered, the front desk called to tell us about the mistake. The next key they gave us didn't work either, so we called again. José, who had helped us at check-in, came up and opened the door. He was very kind and said we'd get complimentary breakfast the next morning to make up for the hassle. When I went to the desk for breakfast the next day, they tried to charge me because the staff hadn't recorded the offer the night before. We also slept poorly because the AC was very noisy and the pillows uncomfortable. The room was clean otherwise. After all that, I can say confidently that I won't be back.

Mina was kind enough to let me check in early, and Diana was helpful with suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. The hotel was very good, and I'd definitely return. It's close to lots of great spots in Orlando, including Universal Studios, Arcade Monsters, and plenty of good restaurants.

The room was uncomfortable, right outside beside a highway, and the doors had no insulation, so all the traffic noise came in. Some staff were good, others weren't. The cleaners were especially rude: they came into my room without knocking to tell me the checkout time. Construction drilling continued outside my room for four hours, and I couldn't sleep at all.
