Hyatt Place across from Universal Orlando Resort

The staff were the best part. From the moment we arrived until checkout, everyone made us feel at ease and welcome. The rooms matched the photos and were very clean. We were only meters from the Universal parking lot and close to the malls, so the location was hard to beat. We’d stay here again if we return!

We turned up without a reservation, and Bryan helped us find an affordable room. Everyone working here greets you with a smile and is ready to lend a hand. The rooms are clean, and the breakfast included with the room is a good way to start a busy day or an easy one. I’d stay here again.

For a visit to Universal Orlando, this was a great base. I was actually in town for a work event in Lakeland, FL, but wanted some fun and good food at Universal. The room was roomy and nice, with a wet bar. Paper towels or something similar would have been a useful addition there. The staff were friendly, and they comped my parking with a code after I made a staff member laugh at check-in. The only real annoyance was the teenage cheerleaders on my floor running up and down the hall late at night. They were all over my flights and Universal too, so I can’t blame the hotel. Overall, a very good stay, and I appreciated how attentive and friendly the staff were.

The room was dirty and dusty, with a strong musty, earthy smell. The air conditioning kept shutting off and spread a bad odor, and the mini fridge was broken. It all felt neglected and unsanitary. On our second night, my daughter developed severe allergy symptoms. I strongly believe the dirty surroundings and poor air quality caused them. We had to leave one night early instead of staying through our scheduled checkout. I was there with my husband and our four children, and I regret bringing them and spending money on this stay. It was the worst hotel experience we’ve had, and I won’t stay here again. After this, I won’t trust or rely on Booking.com reviews either. Absolutely not recommended.
