Mai Hana Hotel & Suites

The staff were so friendly, and the service was first rate. We had a clean room on the fourth floor facing the pool, and the bed was good. Breakfast was a standard hot buffet with eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, drinks, toast, yogurt, granola, and the usual extras. The neighborhood was clean, well lit, and felt safe to walk around. There are lots of restaurants nearby, Icon park is about a 10 minute walk away, and Universal Epic is very close. The only room issue for me was the water saving shower head. Its pressure wasn’t great for my long, thick hair. We enjoyed the stay and the area, and plan to come back to Orlando.

I chose this place because there were no resort fees or last minute fine print charges. The location is fantastic, and Beth at the desk was great. Still, I had to prove that breakfast was included in my reservation. There was far too much noise at 2am, and it only stopped after I called security. Do they not make rounds? Outside noise came straight into the room, though we didn’t hear anything from the neighboring rooms. The bed was too soft, and water from the shower gets everywhere. That seems like an easy fix, but they can’t or won’t do it. The evening desk has just one person, who also has to handle phone reservations. It’s an illogical way to save money, especially when there are multiple people working the desk on Sunday morning. Are you sandbagging Beth?

The front desk staff were incredibly sweet and willing to go above and beyond to make our trip better. Customer service was amazing. The room, though, was dirty. The floor stayed sticky and turned our feet black, even after they cleaned the room. We found roaches too, which apparently is typical down here. There was only one towel and a washcloth when we arrived, and the pool was broken and unusable.

Christina is the reason I’ll keep returning to Mai Hana Hotel. I’ve stayed there for three consecutive business trips, and she made every step feel effortless, from handling the reservation through check-in and checkout. She remembers my name and makes me feel like a VIP when I walk in. She’s proactive, accommodating, and runs the front desk with real grace and efficiency. If I started a company tomorrow, I’d hire her first to lead the customer-facing team. My Hana Hotel is lucky to have her in a leadership role.
