Orlando International Drive North Hotel

Tyreke at the front desk was especially friendly and full of helpful information. The whole desk team made us feel welcome and looked after, which stood out during my brief stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and it’s about a 30-minute walk from Universal Orlando Resort. I hadn’t expected much for the price, so the stay was better than I thought it’d be. I’d consider coming back.

Restaurants and entertainment were easy to reach on foot, and parking at the hotel was convenient. The rooms were comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome. It’s in a great spot on International Drive North, with quick access to the major theme parks. A great place to stay in Orlando.

The room had a strong chemical cleaner smell that started giving me a headache, and it was grimy too. I couldn’t stay inside long enough to look for another place, so I used my phone by the pool. About half an hour after checking in, I told the desk I needed to leave. I turned down another room because of the smell in the first one. They refused to refund the $75 I’d paid, and I spent 5-10 minutes arguing with two desk staff and a guy who seemed to know them. This was during Storm Fern, while I was stranded in Orlando trying to get home and waiting to learn what would happen with my flights and other expenses. I had no way to know I’d need to cancel until I saw the room, but now I’m out the money for a room I didn’t use. The photos online made me question whether the Uber driver had dropped me at the right place when I arrived. The pictures looked misleading compared with the actual hotel. The man at the desk was nice and checked me in, but the hotel is two stars at best, despite being listed on Google as three.

Marteen’s response to our room mix-up really stayed with me. We’d booked two queens, but the room had one king, and it seemed like a system error had left our original room unavailable. He kept looking for a solution and kept us updated while we waited in the room out of the cold. When I stepped outside, I heard someone running. It was Marteen bringing the key to our new room himself and apologizing for the hassle. He was professional, empathetic, and determined to help. He represents the business so well. We hadn’t picked this hotel as our first, second, or third choice. It was a last-minute booking after a family emergency. My sister, her husband, their one-year-old baby, and I drove from Atlanta, GA, arriving at about 2:20 in the morning. Check-in went smoothly, and Marteen had been quick to help after finishing with another group. The beds were extremely comfortable and the hotel was very clean. After that kind of five-star customer service, this is now our first choice, and where my family and I will stay in Orlando going forward.
