The property is gorgeous, and the staff were polite, professional, and clearly doing their best. What made the stay feel so transactional was the constant charge for things I thought came with loyalty status. As a Diamond member, I asked about a complimentary upgrade and was offered one for $300 a night, on top of a room that already cost $900 a night. Late checkout was also available for $50, even though my flight wasn’t until 3 PM. So much for those perks. Breakfast was another letdown. I don’t eat meat and asked for something simple, like two eggs. The option was Eggs Your Way for $27, without meat or bread, so I skipped breakfast and got coffee instead. I once paid $24 for coffee in Rome, so maybe $8 is fair, but the latte was $7 and I may have been taken advantage of. You can decide. It’s sad because the place itself is beautiful and the people are great. Four Seasons, The Ritz, and even the Signia have managed high-end stays without making me negotiate for basic perks. I spend tens of thousands with Hilton every year, and this experience was pathetic.

We went for four nights over New Year’s to do the Disney countdown, and slept really well in the modern, practical room. It was a comfortable stay and we’re glad we picked this hotel. The bathroom felt a little dated, especially the shower. Breakfast was nice, with a good pastry selection. It got busy at peak times, and the fruit and vegetable choices were somewhat limited, but there was enough. We’d consider coming back.

The suite we were upgraded to was first class, and the restaurant served some of the most amazing food I’ve had. The piano player in the bar was a perfect touch. Staff were very attentive, especially the team at the pool bar and buffet restaurant. I’ve tried the most luxurious hotels in Orlando, and this is probably the best place I’ve stayed. The pool is a dream, spacious, clean, and so inviting, with great people around to help with lunch, snacks, and anything else. We also loved the roomy, amazing rooms and the scrumptious breakfast buffet. The restaurant team was delightful, and the hotel offers a quick shuttle ride to Disney World. Most of all, the staff were fabulous, friendly, and wonderful. People you meet really can make all the difference in a trip. I’d definitely recommend Waldorf Astoria Orlando for the pool, food, rooms, and people. Thank you so much!
