Staysky Suites International Drive Orlando

The staff were friendly and the location made getting around easy, so those were the best parts of my two weeks at StaySky Hotel over the last two weeks of the year. The kitchen equipment was decent, though nothing special. The room service was very poor. I was told at check-in that housekeeping would come every three days, but nobody cleaned our room during the entire first week. When they finally came, they didn't change the sheets, which was disappointing on such a long stay. The hotel needs updating. The carpet looked dirty and smelled, the sofa bed was very old and extremely uncomfortable, and the appliances were outdated. There was also a serious electrical problem: trying to use or plug in two appliances at once caused issues.

I had a confirmed booking, then a week later got a cancellation email that I hadn't requested. The hotel said my card had been declined, but aside from a possible technical glitch on their end, it couldn't have been declined and my bank had no record of a problem. When I called back right away, they told me to book again on the website, where every room was sold out. If my card really had been declined, I should have been able to book that same room again. It seemed to me they'd overbooked and used the card as an excuse to bump someone, though I can't prove that. They never tried to contact me, and the phone conversations went nowhere. The staff seemed unbothered and unwilling to help. Don't book here. Find somewhere else that will honor your reservation.

When we arrived, the hotel said they had no record of my reservation. Staff told me it wasn't their problem and sent my family out onto the street. Other reviews say this happens a lot. Don't stay here. They’re scammers.

A raccoon took my shoe and shirt, even though we banged chairs on the floor and shouted to scare it off. Staff acted like there was nothing they could do. It was at the pool area every night, so it obviously lives there. Don't bring children, and don't leave clothes or food unattended outdoors.
