Super 8 Florida Mall

Neil deserves a shout out for exceptional service. Some staff were polite and courteous, though not always especially pleasant. The room was fairly clean, but the floors needed attention, and parts of the floor felt like they might collapse under pressure. We also had to put up with a broken faucet and an alarm-like noise that interrupted sleep. Another guest complained about the same sound. We visited toward the end of March 2026. It was good enough for a short stay, but I wouldn't recommend staying more than 3 days. The entrance wasn't welcoming, with a dirty mat and musty smell, and the building overall urgently needs major upgrades for a Wyndham property. We also had to pay a refundable US$100.00 deposit that wasn't mentioned when we booked. Put a few of these staff in a more modern, better location and you'd have a 5 star hotel at a reasonable rate.

The staff are very kind, and the rooms are very clean, though the building looks old. Breakfast is too small. There are good food options nearby at Melao Bakery and Florida Mall food court. The 528 expressway runs behind the building, so cars are very noisy in rooms at the back. I'd try to get a room at the front.

The street noise was really loud, and we could hear every word our neighbors said or did. There wasn't even a bathroom door, which was ridiculous. The Super 8 was the worst hotel stay of my life. We chose it because we were checking in late and leaving at 3am for an early flight, and knew it was inexpensive, so we weren't expecting much. Neil checked us in but kept my driver's license and never told me. I went to the airport without it and had a lot of trouble there, including having to pay TSA $45.00 so I could fly. I know I didn't ask for it back, but I called Neil and asked him to mail it. After several calls he said he couldn't because of identity theft, even though the DMV mails licenses to me. It seemed like he just didn't want to send it. I live over 2,000 miles away. Neil said his manager Kevin had told him that, though I'm not sure that's true. Kevin wouldn't take my call or call me back, and I also had to pay $$$ for someone to pick it up. I called corporate too, but customer service was non existing. They wouldn't even call the hotel and told me I'd have to wait a week for someone to get back to me. This place was a complete dumpster fire. Stay far away from them.

The rooms were average and we had no complaints about the hotel itself. The problem was its location on a very busy, very VERY noisy corner. Our Saturday night came with racing cars, motorcycles, loud car stereos, and plenty of sirens. If you're a light sleeper, I'd look elsewhere. If you can handle that noise, it's a good place.
