Westgate Blue Tree Resort in Lake Buena Vista

We enjoyed the two larger heated pools and the hot tub, and everything we needed was within walking distance. The area has a lot of traffic, but places are close by. We stayed for two nights and had a fantastic time. We'll definitely be back.

The hotel was lovely, with a beautiful floor, two rooms, and a full kitchen and washer/dryer that made us comfortable. My kids enjoyed the pool, and the facilities were great. I really did enjoy our stay, which is why this is so frustrating. After driving 20 hours and 30 minutes, we arrived around 7 o'clock, exhausted and relieved to be there. Staff gave me the keys and asked me to sign a pet policy. While reading it, I found a breed restriction I hadn't known about. Apparently my dog's breed isn't allowed. They made an exception because of the long drive, but only on strict terms: my dog could stay in the room and couldn't walk around the facility. The website mentioned a 60 lb weight limit but no breed restrictions. It's disappointing that this important rule wasn't made clear beforehand. Because of the breed restriction, I won't stay here again. It's a dealbreaker for me.

We travel to Florida every school holiday, and in 12 years this is the first time I've had to leave a one-star review. We were exhausted when we reached Westgate Blue Tree Resort, then had to haul heavy bags up three flights because there are no elevators. The room looked fine at first, but we quickly found ants everywhere and noticed a faint mildew smell. The front desk offered to spray the room or give us spray to use ourselves. No. We asked to move, but the resort was full and had no other rooms. At least the location was handy for stores and food. Thankfully, we were moved to Westgate Lakes Resort, which felt completely different: cleaner, friendlier, and much more welcoming. The staff there made us feel valued, and the resort was 100% better.

The bedroom was fine, the TVs were a good size, and the location was great. At first the room looked clean and maintained, but there was a strong musty mildew smell as soon as we entered. I spent most of my time on the patio. We were only there for two nights and out much of the day, so I bought an air freshener. It helped a little. There were ants all over the bathroom sink, and I saw visible rust on some appliances in both the bathroom and kitchen.
