Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa

The nicest part for my 10-year-old son was all the friendly people working there. The gate staff and security always greeted us with a smile whenever we came or went. Check-in was effortless even though we arrived early, and the welcome was warm. The reservation team was also wonderful about extending our stay while keeping us in the same room. The waterpark was nice. We've stayed at a few resorts where it's included, but I can see how charging extra helped keep the crowds down, so that wasn't a bad thing. The three- and five-day deals are amazing. We had the best time and I'd definitely stay again, even though most of this trip wasn't vacation related. We just got home today, and I couldn't wait to write this!

After a long drive, we reached the resort close to midnight, and Alvroy made arrival so easy. He showed us where to park, loaded all our things into his limo golf cart, drove us to our villa, and brought everything up in his luggage cart. He was smiling and welcoming the whole time, and we didn't have to lift a finger. We were so grateful. The villa was beautiful and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the lake. The restaurants, shops, arcade, and waterpark were all within walking distance, and everywhere we went was about a 10-minute drive or less. We had a great stay at this Westgate location and will definitely return, and ask for Alvroy, of course!

We needed another night, and JiVette at the front desk went above and beyond to secure our room for us. She was warm, patient, and calm while handling a busy desk, and focused on finding a solution. What stood out was that she seemed to genuinely care about us, beyond just sorting out the arrangements. She made our stay at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa that much better. The hotel is lucky to have someone so welcoming, attentive, and committed to guests. Thank you, JiVette, for your kindness and care.

The pools were clean and well kept, though towels weren't available at the pool areas. Wi-Fi worked across the resort, but was slower near the pools. The property feels somewhat dated, and the rooms don't have smart TVs or easy access to the TV inputs. Staff suggested bringing or buying a Fire Stick if streaming matters to you. Most of the staff primarily speak Spanish. If you don't, having a phone with a translation app can make it easier to communicate. It's a comfortable place with friendly staff, though a few conveniences could be better.
