Wingate by Wyndham Convention Ctr Closest Universal Orlando

NORA at WINGATE by WYNDHAM is an absolute angel. Her customer service was perfect. I’d never stayed at a Wingate hotel by Wyndham before, but Wyndham is a great franchise, and Wingate itself deserves five stars in every category, from housekeeping to the front desk. I was in the area for a medical procedure and booked at the last minute, arriving around 3:00 a.m. From then on, they treated me and my service dog Bandit like royalty. The food was great, the room was clean, and everyone was so nice. I could go on for hours about how wonderful they were. If you get the chance to stay at a Wingate hotel by Wyndham, expect A1 service at an excellent price.

The staff are consistently kind and helpful, and the room was clean and smelled great. The hotel is conveniently placed near the parks, with a nearby plaza within walking distance and a shuttle available to the parks. Breakfast is basic, but it does have hot food. Don’t expect a luxurious meal or many choices.

Be careful booking here. Our dates seemed to change somehow, and the reservation ended up being for different dates. I’d also avoid Evane because of her rude customer service. She acts warm and friendly, but underneath that I found her dishonest and uncaring. Do yourself a favor and choose another hotel in Orlando.

The bus to Universal is one of the hotel’s main selling points, but if you’re going to Epic Universe, it drops you off two hours before opening, when there’s nothing to do there. There’s just one morning bus, at 8 a.m., so the schedule makes no sense to me. The breakfast was disappointing too. The eggs tasted weird, there was no yogurt, and you couldn’t add toppings or customize the sad, floppy waffle. Since there’s a McDonald's across the street, I’d go there for breakfast. That’s why I gave the location four stars. We could basically choose any room because hardly anyone seemed to be staying here, but there were good reasons for the hotel to be so empty. It was one of the worse hotels in Florida, and I was slightly disappointed.
