We checked in Tuesday for IBS and were supposed to leave Thursday, but moved to another hotel Wednesday midday. After just 16 hours there, we were done. I wouldn't stay again, and I'll dispute the second day's resort fee. I wasn't asking them to cover the extra day I was giving up, only the resort fee. Romel said refunds were generally denied and suggested I take it up with my bank. Reviews should have warned me, since it seems others have had issues too. The rooms fell below standards for cleanliness, features, and service. The phones didn't work in either room, so contacting guest services meant using the automated phone line or waiting at the desk. The bathroom floor in the first room was visibly wet for some unknown reason; the laminate edges were peeling, and the floor felt spongy. Maintenance was sent, but staff argued against moving us, saying other guests accepted similar conditions because the hotel was busy. When they finally gave us another room, it wasn't the one we'd reserved. They'd made us feel bad about how booked the place was, yet the lot looked mostly empty and plenty of rooms seemed ready. The second bathroom had hair on the ceiling, the shower water was hot, but pressure was poor. Romel, whose name tag said guest relations director, was rude and dismissive. Kimberly was much more pleasant.

Stayed one night after Disney and was pleased, so I'd come back. The room was clean, the beds comfy, and the staff polite. Check-in was quick and easy, and the rate compared well with nearby hotels. The room was a four out of five, with a few slightly dated bits, but complaints about that seem exaggerated. Honestly, I'd give the place 4.5 out of 5.

The pool is the big draw here, it's amazing, and the staff are friendly and do their best to help. For the budget price, the room issues didn't bother us, since we're not picky. The rooms do feel a little neglected: the exhaust fan and in-room phone (5107) didn't work, and the shower curtain was too short, so water could spill onto the floor. Some local guests didn't follow the quiet-after-10 rule. Nearby bars were very loud on weekends, and we could hear their bass until closing.

Romel, the director of guest services, was exceptional and treated my family and other guests really well. The rooms were clean, staff very friendly, and the hotel is extremely close to all the Universal parks. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it for the price and welcoming service.

The room was clean and spacious, the bed a little more comfortable than others nearby, and the bathroom was clean but dated. Noise travels a lot through the hotel, though it didn't bother me much. Light sleepers would probably be bothered. Service was the problem. Check-in took an obnoxiously long time because the line was long and too few people were at the desk. The receptionist barely spoke, took my money, handed me the key, and explained nothing. On checkout morning, housekeeping knocked at 10:20 even though checkout was clearly 11. My partner and I were packing and indecent. I kept saying the room was occupied, but they continued knocking, so I had to open the door and tell them to leave us alone. The old, flimsy do-not-disturb sign kept blowing off the door; perhaps they'd have left us alone if it had stayed up. It really disrupted our morning.
