Georgian Inn Beach Club

The hotel is right on the beach, and Lyndon was a wonderful help. He recommended things to do and places to eat, then checked back in to hear how we enjoyed the area. We’d seen photos before arriving, but were still surprised by how small the pull-out bed was. We’d booked it and were ready to make do with what we had, but asked whether there was a room with two queens we could upgrade to. Lyndon didn’t have one, though he showed us another room that might suit us better. It had a queen bed and a Murphy bed, so we switched without any trouble. He’s truly an awesome person.

Lyndon, the concierge, went out of his way to share information about sightseeing and the surrounding area. Thanks to a tip from him, we even got to see a rocket launch, which was an unexpected bonus. We stayed in an oceanfront apartment with a full kitchen, and the balcony facing the water was heavenly.

The people staying here are a big part of its charm. Many guests stay for a month at a time, and they all seemed to know one another. Everyone was older and very friendly, which is why I’d come back. We stayed two nights for a quiet beachside place with a pool we could trust, and that worked perfectly. The room was adequate, though the lighting was harsh. The pool was clean and warm, beach access was good, and there were grills and a kitchen area by the pool. Our room also had a kitchen. The lobby has a dated ship theme that I wish I’d photographed. It’s classic Old Daytona. Parking can be tricky, as it is at other Daytona places from that era. Check-in made me feel like a high school kid trying to buy a house. It’s Daytona, so I get it, but it did make me feel the guests weren’t trusted. We’d stay again.

Kimberly at the front desk made the stay a delight. She’s charming, and each day she had a new suggestion that made the experience better. The maintenance crew were polite and efficient, too. The hotel has wonderful ocean views, a great location, and plenty of parking. It’s about a mile and a half from the main street through Ormond, with easy access to anything you need. Maybe I’ll book a suite next time.
