The rooms are basic but comfortable, and the people running the place are the reason I’ll return. They went out of their way to make sure my stay was good, even bringing me a new bed. Cody, the maintenance guy, was also helpful and fixed things whenever I had an issue.

I rented from late May through September, and I’d tell anyone considering a summer lease to look elsewhere. The location is great, but I feel they took money from our deposits unfairly. My roommate and I each paid a $525 security deposit. They kept $200 from each of us: $100 apiece for damage that was already there when we moved in, and $100 apiece for cleaning a space of about 300 square feet, if that. The shower didn’t work when we moved in, there was a hole where the shower head goes, and the wall toilet paper holder had broken off. We told management so maintenance could fix those things, and even bought a new shower head for him to install. Mold also grew on all my belongings during the stay, which I blamed on the AC and the lack of a dehumidifier. When I asked for receipts for the cleaning and repair, since we hadn’t caused the damage and had a legal right to see how the deposit was spent, management and the owner got really upset. They said it had cost more than they charged and told us to consider the issue over. This is at the Lake of the Ozarks, owned by someone who runs a few bars there, so I expected people to try to take money. The place is run down, and I wouldn’t give these greedy people my money. We didn’t know what to expect, so walking into such a spacious, clean room was a lovely surprise. The location is really good, and the owner was extremely helpful. We’re from Colorado and thought the rate for this resort was more than reasonable. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m really enjoying this little lake hideaway. It’s quiet, simple, casual, and relaxing, with lots of outdoor space. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the large hot showers, mini fridges, coffee makers, and microwaves are nice to have. Shopping and food are just down the road. The off-season weekly rates are great too.

The cabins feel roomy, and the lake view is excellent. We could sit out on the big deck at the table and chairs and watch the pretty lights across the lake. It’s a quiet, laid-back setting, with several restaurants within walking distance and shopping just around the corner. We highly recommend it!
