Lakewood Resort

We had a great stay, with clean, updated rooms and good service. The condo was a nice place overall, but the highway right nearby meant a lot of traffic noise. I also wasn’t comfortable with a flyer being handed out to everyone at the start of the week that listed each guest’s last name, room number, and state of residence. I prefer more privacy.

The staff were great, and everything was nice and clean. The location is close to everything, and the fishing dock and cleaning station are handy. The bathrooms are very small, with low shower heads, but clean and functional. There are lots of steps, so it isn’t very accessible for people with disabilities, though staff put us in a unit with fewer stairs. When tornado sirens went off, the night staff made sure everyone in our building could move to a lower unit. I was really impressed.

I stayed for two weeks and had no complaints. The rooms were spacious, the staff were helpful whenever I needed something, and the views were great even in winter. The pool and hot tub were closed because of Covid. I’d recommend staying here and plan to come back this summer to swim in the lake and fish. Enjoy!

If all you need is a clean room without extras, this place is great. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. It’s an older resort, though, and short on modern amenities. The decor mixes a little modern style with a lot that feels dated. There are no elevators or walk-in rooms, not many activities, and the game room is small.
