Town & Country Motel

Those separate towels for wiping down a car, boat, or bike were a thoughtful touch, so we didn’t have to get the white towels dirty. The Town and Country also had a quiet A/C unit, a spotless room, a comfortable king bed, and new wood-look vinyl floors. The staff were amazing. I haven’t felt this satisfied with a place in a long time.

The room had a comfortable bed, a small fridge, and a microwave, and it was spotless. We chose the Town & Country Motel for its strong online reviews and were glad we did. Check-in was friendly and informative about the area, with a welcome from Beauregard, the English bulldog, too. I brought my own pillows, though another guest at checkout raved about the motel’s. I didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. The only downside was the strong room freshener smell. Using a bit less would be nice.

The front desk person was really nice and helpful when we arrived and throughout our stay. The rooms were very clean, and the shower had decent water pressure. Parking was the main annoyance: the spaces were so tight that other guests hit my car multiple times and didn’t seem to care. There also weren’t any free plugs in the room. The lights, TV, alarm clock, and coffee pot in the bathroom were already using them, and unplugging the coffee pot still wouldn’t have helped with charging a laptop.

We rode in with a motorcycle group after getting caught in rain for about 155 miles, and someone from the office was already outside with towels before we’d even gotten off our bikes. Fresh coffee and homemade sugar cookies were waiting inside while we checked in. My room was so clean and fresh, and they dried my clothes and shoes for me while I waited for the rest of my clothes to arrive. I only had yoga pants with me until then. There was a nice continental breakfast, though you need to get there early, and a bucket of rags in the office for wiping down the bikes. We had two trikes, four bikes, and a car because of a breakdown. I was beyond impressed with the staff and would recommend this place, especially to motorcyclists looking for a bike-friendly hotel. It’s not a big chain.
