The desk attendant was nice and let me stay until 3:30pm the next day, well past checkout, for just $4 extra. I gave $5. I'm an Amish taxi driver and had traveled 600 miles to get there. The place was a bit dirty, but worth it for the price, and at least the beds were clean. One night plus the late checkout came to $60.

I used to stay here because it was friendly, locally run, and accommodating, but I think this will be our last visit. I didn't feel comfortable. The rooms were outdated except for the bathroom, and the TV, mini fridge, and microwave all shared a power strip. The beds were hard and squeaky, and there were spots on the ceiling, some looking moldy. There was no coffee pot in the room or the small lobby area, which smelled of curry and soy the night before and again in the morning. I also heard loud talking or subdued yelling from another room behind the desk. The people in the end rooms seemed to be locals, and I felt they weren't taking care of their hygiene. I'm not usually so judgmental, but I wouldn't recommend this motel.

After we'd checked in, the AC stopped working during the night. I went to the office at 6:30 and waited about 20 minutes, ringing the bell and calling without an answer. Around 8:30 I called again, and the woman said she'd come check it. She arrived 30 minutes later, switched it off and on, and said it was working. Three hours after that the room was very hot, so she came back and did the same thing. We only got a room change after I said we'd check out if it wasn't fixed or moved. I also learned other guests with two people were paying $40 less per week, and our friends were charged less for a double room than we were. When I asked about the difference, I was told they'd find out what happened, with no offer to make it right. They also rent to people without asking for ID and allow people involved in drug activity to stay, doing nothing to protect other guests from harassment by them.

We'd been searching for two hours outside the Dells on a weekend, and this place was extremely affordable. It was comfortable enough to get us through the night, and the folks running it were nice. Don't expect perfection and you won't be disappointed.

The owners are very friendly, and the rooms are clean. I've stayed three times, and it's one of the best motels I've found for a quick stop. Whenever I travel this stretch of 94, I'll keep stopping here.
