The owner made our track team's stay special. He cooked pizza in the new brick oven they'd just bought, made sure we had everything we needed, and let us use his patio the next day for senior night with our graduating seniors. That saved us a lot of trouble. The staff were amazing and helpful too. It was a great experience, and I'd recommend the place and stay again if I get the chance.

There wasn't any breakfast, though I understand the reasons at the time. The hotel was very clean, with hand-sanitizing stations all over, and I appreciated the extra care they seemed to take with cleaning during the pandemic. Everyone was friendly and caring, from the front desk to the housekeepers. We had a great stay last week and will make a point of staying here again when we come through Ottawa. Thanks for the great work!

The front desk woman was the bright spot of our stay. She kindly moved us after we found a dirty toilet and a cigarette hole in the comforter in the first room. But in the next room, the toilet and tub were dirty too. She sent the housekeeper, who spent maybe five minutes and left with an attitude. We ended up cleaning the toilet, tub, and coffeemaker ourselves. The couch had three handfuls of pet hair, and there was a paper bowl with Marijuana resin on the dresser. No one came to spot-clean during the two nights we stayed. Our reservation wasn't there when we arrived, so we had to pay more. There was also no continental breakfast or pool as advertised on the site. I won't be back.

People in the room above us were noisy until 4 a.m., and I ended up sleeping in my clothes. The ceiling leaked for two hours, with water dripping and bathroom tiles falling. The room was dirty, the bathroom smelled like urine, and the TV didn't work, though that might not matter to everyone. The whole experience was terrible, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

After twenty years living out of hotels and motels as a nationally touring stand-up comic, I know that the way people treat you can make a place feel like the best, even if it isn't the “best” by pretentious standards. The manager here was a classy, considerate person. He called within minutes of my reservation to confirm it, greeted me warmly at the easy check-in, and later hung lights on the spacious patio for a wedding party staying there. Nobody asked him to, he just wanted them to come back to a nice setting for their celebration. I'm not claiming this is a five-star hotel, but the service was five star.
