Those rooms were filthy, and I’ve never felt more uncomfortable in a motel or hotel. $80 after taxes and fees is way too much for that.

Cockroaches came out from behind the bathroom mirror, the room wasn’t clean, and the AC was loud and barely worked. The rooms were trash. A housekeeper said she found a marijuana roach and claimed I’d smoked in the room. I won’t deny the roach might have been mine, but I did not smoke in the room. Service wasn’t horrible, but the place is dumpy, even if it’s affordable. If you want friendly service, a good breakfast, and a pool, I recommend Comfort Inn. I have no affiliation with Comfort Inn.

A blizzard kept me from getting home after I was released from the hospital, so I called to confirm my room and early check-in. When I arrived, an employee and the owner were out shoveling snow for me, and the employee even offered to help me to the door. The room was great for the price, and the service was excellent. I really appreciated the extra help.

I stayed here during a multi-day bike ride on the Flint Hills State park trail. It was comfortable and met my needs.

After seeing all the bad reviews, I wanted to share that I had a great stay. The room and shower were clean, everything worked as it should, and nothing smelled bad. That’s honestly not always the case in rooms under $60. No bugs, no problems, and even the AC and heater were odor-free. It’s an older place, but very well kept up. I travel a lot and will be back. I’ll post a few pictures.
