Billy Rae, Jess, Tab, Daisy, and Bonnie were warm with me even when the desk got busy, and they made the whole visit feel personal. I usually hate being away from my family, but this Holiday Inn in Ottumwa, Iowa, felt much more like a welcoming home than a hotel. Ashley, Andrea, and Minnia kept the room spotless and comfortable, while Earl and Josh served fresh breakfast every day with great service. I felt a real connection with everyone and would happily stay here again.

The room was spacious, clean, and nice, and the bed was comfortable. The evening crew were cheerful and fantastic. Checkout was a different experience, though: the woman at the desk that morning seemed grumpy. I'm not letting one person spoil the review.

The general manager said they’re replacing the motion-sensor thermostats, which was good to hear because I tend to wake up hot in rooms with those. Mine also had a fridge that whined, so I had to switch it off. I was only there one night; the room was clean, the staff friendly, and the coffee great. Breakfast was fine for something included in the stay.

Daisy was wonderful when she checked us in, and the hotel and room were clean. The price was reasonable too. Her older coworker was rude while we waited to get a card and hurried the next guest along. She also warned everyone that cars with incorrect information would be towed. The pool was closed, which was frustrating. Without that staff member, this would have been five stars.

We’re here for work for a few weeks, and everyone has been so helpful and kind. Billy is usually the person on the night shift we ask for help, and he always takes care of us.
