The pool water was so heavily treated that my son and three of his friends had significant irritation around their eyes and faces. Billing was also handled incorrectly, adding more frustration to our stay. We had booked two rooms for my son's birthday with a few friends. When the boys were just standing by the pool talking and looking at it, the front desk employee asked how many there were and said it already looked like we were going to have a problem. She warned us that noise complaints from other guests wouldn't be tolerated. The boys hadn't done anything wrong then or during the stay. I calmly asked what they were doing that was inappropriate, but she didn't answer. It was an uncomfortable start to a special occasion. If the boys and parents hadn't already coordinated drop-offs, I would have cancelled and left. Our group was respectful and got no complaints. Another group of kids did ding-dong ditch at our door once, and we let it go because kids will be kids. Still, this didn't feel welcoming to families or kid-friendly. I wouldn't choose it for a family trip or birthday.

The breakfast was scrumptious, and the staff were absolutely lovely. My daughter, our dog and I had to stop in Owatonna because of the snow, but it never felt like we were stranded. The service was outstanding, and our room was clean and cozy. It turned into a fun little getaway for us. We'd like to plan a real weekend there and enjoy the pool and relax again. 10/10, we'd stay again!

For my work sites, the location was just right, about 25 minutes from my job and 40 minutes from the city. The room service was amazing, and the room stayed clean with cleaning done regularly when scheduled. The staff and owners were all 100%. This is the best hotel upstate, a 10-star place as far as I'm concerned, though I can only give it the highest available rating.

It stays clean and isn't beat up, but this really doesn't work as an extended-stay hotel. There's no kitchen and no full-size fridge, so I have to eat out and spend more than I need to. There's barely anywhere to keep dry food or clothes, and the small closet has a broken metal hanging bar. Even washing dishes would be awkward with that tiny sink. Not convenient at all for more than a few days.
