Best Western Plus Owensboro

The breakfast area was arranged nicely, and there’s a yogurt machine with toppings. The standout for me, though, was how clean everything was. I’ve worked in cleaning for over 30 years and have seen plenty of hotels that make me reach for the big bottle of Lysol I travel with. I didn’t need it here. It seems new or recently remodeled, so I can’t say how it’ll hold up in a few years.

My husband had to turn around halfway between Memphis and Owensboro, pick me up at the hospital, then drive all the way back to Owensboro so I could use the room we couldn’t cancel. I’d fallen in the shower and cracked my skull and hip, and couldn’t sit upright in the van, so he made a pallet for me in the back. We had asked to reschedule first, then cancel, but the hotel refused both, even though we live in Memphis, TN and the hotel is in Owensboro, KY. I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t just throw away $92. They could have let us reschedule from the start.

I’ve been working in Owensboro for eight weeks and haven’t had a problem with any room here. I tried the Holiday Inn downtown and had to switch rooms twice because of cleanliness, so I booked back at the Best Western right away. I’ll keep staying here for the next four weeks while I finish my work.

Breakfast is one of the things I appreciate here. The food is fresh, the area stays spotless, and the staff keep it organized, unlike the chaotic setups you sometimes find elsewhere. The property is very clean and well cared for, and there’s a comfortable, family-like feel alongside the professional service. From check-in to check-out, the staff, whether at the desk or housekeeping, are warm, welcoming, and attentive. You can tell the owner and team take pride in the place and care about guests. The location is excellent too. A real gem in Owensboro, highly recommend.
