Days Inn by Wyndham Ozark Springfield

Our bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows. The woman at the front desk was super friendly, and the location just off the highway could work well with some updates. As it is, though, the hotel is dated, needs an overhaul, and didn’t smell very pleasant. Even the parking lot needs attention. For about $90 a night, I felt $60 would’ve been fair. Breakfast was half-brown bananas, a third of a loaf of bread for guests to serve themselves with butter and jelly, and two cereal choices. Maybe there was coffee, but we skipped it. I don’t want to bash the place, but it missed the mark for us. Better breakfast and some work could make it a winner. So sorry!

They charged me twice, for different amounts. This used to be a great hotel and we stayed there all the time a year ago, but I won’t return. It’s independently owned, and for two weeks I’ve tried to reach a manager, getting a different excuse every time. When I finally spoke to someone after opening a case, he was rude and hateful, called me crazy, and insisted I’d only been charged once, even though I can clearly see both charges. There are roaches too. When I reported them, they acted like it was no big deal and said they weren’t going to deal with them, claiming it was the responsibility of the person staying in room 121. They also tried to blame the infestation on someone who lived there. I strongly suggest you don’t stay.

Breakfast in the lobby was just cereal and snacks, but that was fine, and coffee was available all day. There aren’t many choices in this small town, and this Days Inn in Ozark worked perfectly for us. It’s no-frills, but the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff really friendly and helpful. I’ll stay again whenever I’m in town visiting family.

My mother had a lot on her mind because my sister had just passed away, and she booked the wrong motel. I called 24 hours in advance to cancel, and they said they’d issue a refund. It’s been a week and a half and I still haven’t received the money. Since I didn’t stay there and gave notice, I feel they should return it.
