Quality Inn

After 18 hours on the road, we made a last-minute reservation after MN. Check-in was quick, and the room was very clean. The beds, pillows, and sheets were comfortable, and the AC cooled the room well. The free breakfast was filling, and the Coke machine was fairly priced. The TV wouldn't turn on, probably just needed batteries in the remote, but we only needed to sleep and could check the weather on our phones. They had bathroom amenities except toothpaste and a toothbrush, which was fine since we brought our own. It's just off Hwy 65, with a convenience store very close by. We'll definitely stay again.

The room had a cold refrigerator and a microwave, and the beds seemed okay. The sheets looked clean and were tucked in tight. The bathroom was so-so, but usable. I arrived after 4 today, carrying my suitcase and a cooler with food for the week. It was hotter inside than outside, about 85, and then I found out the elevator wasn't working. Luckily I'm not handicapped. The desk put me on the second floor, so it took two trips to get everything up. My room was over 90 degrees, and the AC had been turned off. I switched it on, but it only seemed to blow cold if I stood right next to it. I went to get something to eat, hoping the room would cool down while I was gone. It was a little cooler when I returned, but these are going to be a long four days.

A good value, especially if you're trying to avoid Springfield taxes and fees. The rooms are clean and neat, but the beds are hard and dated. They could use a decent mattress topper. I'd avoid rooms by the exits, since the marijuana smell can take over.

The room was clean, but we left after three nights even though we'd planned to stay four. Our key card kept deactivating, and after one more trip to the desk to get it reactivated, we would've lost it. The staff didn't seem surprised or offer any explanation, as though that was just normal. When we said we were leaving a day early, they charged us a $35.00 fee. I wouldn't recommend this place or stay again. The elevator was broken, so we asked for a first-floor room and were told they were booked. We hauled everything upstairs, but there were only two cars in the lot over the next 48 hours. It made us wonder what was wrong with the empty rooms. Mold, maybe? I'm not sure. Breakfast wasn't freshly made. It was leftovers from the day before, reheated, including the eggs. Yuk. The coffee was terrible.
