The room was small, and two people in the queen room would've felt cramped, though there was enough space overall. There's a shared first-floor area with tables if you need room to sit. The bathroom seemed partly updated but was still tight and awkward to move around in. I also found soap residue from a previous guest on the sink, and the heater control was confusing. Adjusting it by feel seemed to have the opposite effect of what the label said. It's far enough from town that walking out for food isn't appealing, especially after dark. Still, in winter this is probably Packwood's best deal if you just need somewhere to sleep and won't spend the day at the motel.

We made time to barbecue and enjoy the fresh mountain air outdoors during our visit to Mount Rainier National Park. The lodge was quiet and peaceful, and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Even with the road nearby, the room was surprisingly quiet. It was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was well kept and very nice. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. I had a great stay a few months ago and would happily return.

A lovely natural setting, with birds to enjoy and artful gardens full of herbs that make a nice place to sit outside. I wondered if a tankless water heater might make the experience even better.

Kong, the manager, even fixed our puncture on the morning we left for Seattle airport. He was so willing to help us get on our way, and we really appreciated it. Our cabin was a pleasant surprise, with lots of space, great kitchen facilities, and very clean. Check-in was easy and friendly, too. It's a short walk to town, where there are two breweries, a marketplace, and a fuel station. The lodge also made it easy to get to Mt Rainier NP. Good value for a two-night stop, and we'd like to thank them for a wonderful stay.
