Americas Best Value Inn & Suites-Casa Bella Hotel

I made my reservation two weeks ahead, but when I called the day before to confirm, I was told I had to come to the property before noon on my reservation day and pay the full room price, or they couldn’t guarantee the booking. They also required a $100 cash security deposit, supposedly refundable the next day after inspecting the room. I explained I was coming from out of town and couldn’t arrive before noon, especially since check-in wasn’t until 4:00 PM. I asked why I’d need a reservation if I still had to show up early to secure the room. I got upset and asked for a manager. The person said they were the manager, there was nothing they could do if I didn’t pay early, and then abruptly disconnected the call. I called back several times without an answer. When I eventually got through, I said I was canceling. I won’t stay somewhere with management that’s this rude and unreasonable. Now I understand the many negative reviews about the place. The management’s customer service is completely unacceptable.

At least the sunset was pretty, so I’m posting a photo of it. The place itself is a dump, and I don’t know why the Expedia reviews were good. There were no chairs by the pool, everything was dirty and needed replacing, and the staff weren’t very friendly. One night, they let a big group of teenagers take over the pool and hot tub. They definitely weren’t all staying there, and one of them worked there. I won’t stay again.

I stayed last weekend and was unhappy enough to warn others. I booked online, thinking everything was settled, then the manager told us there was a $7 resort fee and a $100 deposit in cash. Neither was mentioned on the website. He also charged an extra $25 for a second vehicle, saying it would be towed if we didn’t pay. The room was dirty, the AC was loud, and the bathroom, floors, and towels were dirty too. There was even a very old bag of takeout food left in the room. The hidden fees were ridiculous, especially given the condition of the room. At checkout, another manager asked how much I’d paid for parking and the deposit, even though she had the receipts in her hand. I mentioned the old food, and she just shrugged. I would have stayed in my car if I’d known how bad it would be.

Alicia at the front desk was amazing. She was so upbeat and eager to help us. I really needed this vacation, and I’m grateful she got us a room right in front of the swimming pool. 🙏❤️ A heads-up, though, it’s chilly right now. A family with about 20 kids stayed in the hot tub and wouldn’t leave, and a staff member, Jerry, was rude and said “TOO BAD.” The night cost me $235, and it wasn’t worth it.
